Manchester Metropolitan University Launches GradMatch Scheme

Even the the brightest graduate is far from guaranteed employment once they’ve finished their studies, and postgraduates aren’t any more certain either.

Often the problem is that companies need people with experience (which not many graduates have) and graduates want to gain experience (which not many companies are willing to offer). It’s a classic catch-22. But now help is at hand through Manchester Metropolitan University’s GradMatch scheme. Small firms are being encouraged to take advantage of the scheme that will provide 100 internships for students graduating this year.

“MMU takes the employability of our graduates very seriously and giving them support in getting high quality experience of the graduate labour market via a paid internship is one way of doing this” said Rita Lewin, head of Student Employability and Success and Deputy Director of Student Services at MMU.
