For many people, having a job often sucks! This is the true reality for many who dread dragging themselves out of the bed to get up and face the dreaded commute. Truth be told, the 9 to 5 grind isn’t for everyone, and there are actually alternatives to explore. How possible this will be, depends on many factors, including how much money you need to fuel your lifestyle, and if you are determined enough to actually do this. But it’s often true that even the very act of going to work increases the cost of living, such as transport costs, lunch and takeaway coffees.

So keeping all that in mind, here are 5 great ways to make a living without actually having a job.

Investing in the Markets

Investing in the markets, or in anything that is not completely understood by yourself is a bit of a risk. This is not to say it’s a bad idea, but to do it successfully it’s important to acknowledge the risk and do whatever you can to minimize it. A good Wealth Management company will make you aware of the risk of an investment and can point you in the direction of high, medium or low-risk options depending on your preference.

Marry a Wealthy Individual

This may sound like a joke, but although it’s not for everyone, for many people, financial worth is a factor when choosing a spouse. If you are lucky enough to meet someone compatible and who has a buck or two to rub together, then all the better!

Own Property

Property is always going to be worth a reasonable amount of money and so can be considered to always be a good investment option. If you have a good credit rating then it’s not difficult to be able to get a mortgage, and it’s easy to find and compare using sites like Habito. Even if your rental property is not a big profit maker month to month, once the mortgage is paid off you have a valuable asset that still brings in a monthly income.

Pet Sitting

Pet sitting is a great way to make money if you love animals. You can also offer other services if you expand, such as walking, dog grooming or even kennelling if you have space. There is hope for all our animal lovers out there!

Invest in Antiques

Investing in physical objects can be very lucrative IF you know what you are doing. Often the first thing that comes to mind if furniture and ornaments, but there are so many objects and items that are worth money. These can include such things as toys, games, comic books, books, and even sport trading cards. The trick is to choose something you have an interest in or a passion for.
